Spring Chick Cupcakes
I enjoy cake decorating, but it can be quite time-consuming. I’ve come to appreciate decorating cupcakes instead—they’re quicker to make, equally adorable, and help with portion control!
Making these Spring Chicks is straightforward. You’ll need the following supplies:
- Yellow frosting
- Yellow sugar crystals
- Chocolate chips
- White frosting
- Orange frosting
- Toothpick
- Icing bag
- Round tip and closed star tip
Start by icing the tops of the cupcakes with yellow frosting. Next, sprinkle yellow sugar crystals on top, or for a quick method, dip the tops into a plate of sugar crystals.
For the eyes, place the chocolate chips upside down on the cupcakes. Use a toothpick dipped in white frosting to add a dot onto each chocolate chip for the eye’s highlight.
To create the beaks, use a round tip or a leaf tip for more variety. Squeeze a line of orange frosting where you want the beak to be; start at the center, then pull up gently to form the beak’s point.
Use the closed star tip and yellow frosting to add little tufts representing feathers on top of the chick’s head.
Alternatively, you can press an orange candy into the cupcake to form the beak.
There are no strict rules with these cupcakes—they’re simply irresistible!
