Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut butter cookies are always a delight in our household, regardless of the season.

This year, we decided to make them a bit more exciting and fun!

We think they’re adorable enough to leave out for Santa. What do you think?

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 48 Red M&M’s
  • 96 Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Mini Twist Pretzels

Baking Cookies

Instructions

  1. Break pretzels into pieces to be used as antlers.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  3. Cream together the peanut butter, butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, beating until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing until well incorporated.
  7. Roll into balls about 1/2-3/4 inch in size and place them on a cookie sheet several inches apart.

Decorating Cookies

  1. Sprinkle the cookies with sugar and create a slight indentation off-center with your thumb.
  2. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  3. Place an M&M in the indentation of each cookie.
  4. Insert 2 mini chocolate chips (pointy side down) above the M&M to represent eyes.
  5. Add 2 pretzel pieces for the antlers.
  6. If the antlers don’t stick, melt some chocolate chips in a sandwich bag in the microwave for 30 seconds. Knead until soft, then use it as glue to hold the antlers in place.
