Those seeking warmth over Pumpkin Spice Lattes and fall foliage should love no further than the latest report shared by Thrillist.
Vrbo, a vacation rental platform rivaling Airbnb, has revealed 6 U.S. beach towns that will save you tons of money this fall.
They also gave a shout-out to bigger cities such as San Diego and Seattle as more mainstream getaways, yet the savings weren’t quite as drastic as the smaller beach towns.
Fall can still be an awesome time to hit the beach since the summer crowds tend to dwindle down, giving vacationers more space to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Beach vacations never have to end just because the seasons change. While fall may bring cooler weather in some beach towns, the epic views and cool, salty air remain the same.
So, if you never deactivated Beach Mode then these 6 U.S. beach towns with the cheapest vacation rentals might be right up your alley:
Outer Banks, North Carolina
Perhaps Outer Banks may already be on your radar, given the highly popular show on Netflix. Don’t let it influence you too much, though, as many of the scenes are actually filmed in neighboring South Carolina.
Let’s give this destination more attention for other reasons, like saving you some big bucks! This area is North Carolina’s version of the Florida Keys.
A long stretch of beautiful coastline that will make you want to turn your cheap vacation rental into your next vacation home.
With plenty of unique activities, such as shipwreck diving, and beautiful beaches for miles, travelers should highly consider making the Outer Banks their fall beach escape.
South Padre Island, Texas
Famously a party destination, especially for Spring Break, South Padre Island is a perfect fall getaway as well, especially if your travel budget is a top priority.
Located at the tip of Texas near the border of Mexico lies some of Texas’ finest coastline a few hours from Corpus Christi.
Texas is such a large state; sometimes the beaches can be overlooked with such fun cities to visit, like the trendy city of Austin.
But, you would be doing yourself a disservice to skip out on Texas for your next beach getaway. Vrbo reported some luxury listings have dropped as much as $700 here!
Gulf Shores, Alabama
Gulf Shores is one of the most popular beach getaways in the South. Road trips from neighboring states are quite common to reach the pristine soft white sand.
This gorgeous beach is also insanely popular during Spring Break but perfectly suitable for a Fall Break as well.
Many vacationers opt for a beachfront hotel, but vacation rentals may be your best bet this fall with such low prices.
Vrbo reported savings as much 50% on some of the top luxury rentals you could imagine. The beautiful coastline stretches for miles, where there are plenty of cushy rental homes to choose from.
Miramar, Florida
Miramar may not technically be a beach town, but this small suburb is worth staying in to save some major dough.
Located between Hollywood and Miami is lovely Miramar, where you can opt to stay in a cheap vacation rental and still be within close distance of scenic beaches.
Hollywood Beach, Sunny Isles, and the vibrant cultural city of Miami are a stone’s throw away for some fun in the sun.
Rosemary Beach, Florida
When you Google search “Rosemary Beach,” the first search result is a list of vacation rentals. That sums up why this pretty little beach town should be on your radar.
With extreme savings this fall, beachgoers can live a life of luxury of pure bliss on some of the Florida Panhandle’s most prized coastlines with otherworldly blue waters.
This quaint beach town has a close-knit community of ‘regulars’ ready to welcome you to their own little version of paradise.
Hilton Head, South Carolina
The lovely region of Hilton Head offers visitors a variety of stunning beaches and miles of scenic trails to choose from.
You can’t beat the location, as it is also near to the charming southern town of Savannah, Georgia.
You can visit the amazing beaches by day and immerse yourself in one of America’s most charming cities at night.
This southern treasure may be best experienced in the fall since there is such a price drop. With the average cost of living being 8% above the national average, it’s best to take advantage of the cheap rates.
