The country’s cuisine has also gained widespread recognition and admiration, inspiring sushi and ramen restaurants in every corner of the world.

With its blend of ancient traditions and modern innovation, Japan’s popularity continues to rise, drawing in travelers, pop culture enthusiasts, and curious adventurers from all around the globe.

Although tourists were welcomed back last year, the news that Japan will drop all of its previous Covid restrictions beginning May 8, 2023 has highlighted Japan as one of the most sought-after destinations this year.

Japan is not known for being one of the most budget-friendly destinations, but travelers can save a little money now that low-cost carrier ZIPAIR is in the picture.

ZIPAIR is based out of Tokyo and currently operates flights to Honolulu, San Jose, and Los Angeles in the U.S., as well as Incheon (Seoul), Bangkok, and Singapore.

Amidst surging flight prices to Asia, this Japanese airline offers one-way flights in the mid-300s direct to Tokyo, and they’re adding a new route starting June 2nd

ZIPAIR’s New Route

The new route, which will operate 5 days a week between Tokyo and San Francisco, will be ZIPAIR’s fourth U.S. location.

Although some sources are advertising prices as low as $91 one-way, it should be known that this is only for children 6 and under.

Still, this is a great option if you’re flying with a family, as many airlines don’t offer children’s rates except for those under the age of 2.

Standard adult fares are closer to $350, depending on the date, which is about half the price of other airlines on this route during the same time frame.

This includes carry-on luggage of up to 7kg, or just over 15 pounds, which can be split between two bags.

This is quite a low weight limit, so there’s a good chance you will need to check luggage as well, which will incur an additional charge, along with meals and seat selection.

ZIPAIR does have another fare class if you’d like to be more comfortable on your 10-hour flight, but this is not for the budget-conscious.

The Full-Flat fare is over double the cost of the standard but allows much more space to relax and a little more privacy.

However, passengers still must pay to choose their specific seat, purchase a meal, and add additional luggage.

Why Choose Japan?

There are countless reasons why Japan is a must-visit destination for travelers.  Japan provides a multifaceted experience that blends tradition and innovation for a dynamic atmosphere that is unparalleled.

From the serene beauty of its ancient temples and shrines, such as Kyoto’s iconic Golden Pavilion and Nara’s historic Todai-ji temple, to traditional tea ceremonies and exquisite cuisine, Japan offers a world of tradition and elegance.

Nature enthusiasts will also find plenty to marvel at in Japan.  Cherry blossoms in spring, colorful autumn foliage, the majestic Mount Fuji, and the bamboo groves of Arashiyama showcase some of Japan’s stunning natural beauty.

Moreover, Japan’s modern technological advancements and futuristic cities, such as Tokyo and Osaka, offer a contrasting experience with their neon-lit streets, high-tech gadgets, and cutting-edge architecture.

Add to that its distinct and vibrant pop culture, themed cafes, and anime and manga scene, and visitors can immerse themselves in a truly unique and entertaining experience.

Lastly, Japan is renowned for its world-class cuisine, with sushi, ramen, tempura, and sake being just a few of its culinary highlights.

With travelers leaning more towards foodie destinations this year, it makes sense that Japan is high up on people’s travel bucket lists.

Food lovers can indulge in a wide array of flavors and regional specialties as well as a plethora of street foods ranging from the typical skewered chicken (yakitori) to the incredibly popular octopus balls (takoyaki).
