Tulum is easily the Mexican Caribbean’s trendiest spot when it comes to luxurious vacays.

Home to an opulent development zone and bounded by the turquoise Caribbean, it provides Americans with that quintessential Mexican vacation they crave when planning trips South of the border.

Although Tulum already has quite the portfolio, with household names like Hilton, Dreams and Barcelo all spoiling vacationers for choice, yet another five-star retreat is expected to bow in the coming weeks, elevating its status as one of Mexico’s most luxurious resort towns even further.

This fall, a new opulent, all-inclusive Hyatt is arriving in Tulum, so if you’re visiting Quintana Roo this season, you should watch out look out for opening deals:

A New Luxury Retreat In The Trendiest Part Of Mexico

As reported by The Cancun Sun, a new Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club is opening on October 12, ahead of the Mexican Caribbean’s long-awaited peak season, both the best time for travelers to visit and one of the most lucrative periods for hospitaliers.

Needless to say, the announcement comes amid a surge in interest for tropical vacations among Americans, who have spent the best part of the last three or so years restricted to travel within their own country and constantly bombarded by an influx of bad news.

When going abroad, a majority of U.S. travelers pick the Mexican Caribbean precisely for its all-encompassing getaway deals and great weather, and as it is a short two-hour drive South of Cancun and much smaller, Tulum is their best bet for a convenient, relaxing vacation.

A Hyatt product, the new hotel not only seeks to provide guests with comfortable accommodation throughout their stay in the Caribbean but also a whole experience, with a ‘boho elegant’ character, as described on the official website, and a more rustic, earthy interior.

The most striking feature is certainly the cenote-inspired décor, which makes the bright-blue pools, bounded by verdant gardens, look almost as if they are natural ponds. In a way, this new hotel is Yucatan nature personified.

Overall, there are 300 suites and one extremely exclusive luxury villa, set against the tropical backdrop of Tulum’s jungle and directly facing the Caribbean coast.

Incredible Amenities

As stated on the website, guests will never have to stray too far to gorge on some delicious Mexican food or their favorites from back home, with Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club being equipped with at least 15 different dining experiences.

This includes tasty snacks at charming cafés, an Asian-Peruvian fusion restaurant, a steak and seafood grill, a Mediterranean eatery where pizza, pasta, and other Latin-European staples are served, and a luxurious bar with a terrace boasting a sweeping panorama of the property and coast beyond.

When it comes to spa treatments, guests will have a chance to get pampered at the Secrets Spa by Pevonia, a wellness center specializing in relaxing massages, hydrotherapy, and other indigenous Mayan treatments with a more modern twist.

If the luxury villa appeals to you and you don’t mind spending more for some exclusivity, you’re likely to be drawn to the hotel’s ‘Preferred Club’ option, where you’ll enjoy access to a private club lounge and bar, personalized breakfast service, and other services unavailable to regular guests.

Hyatt has also been able to confirm the new listing is part of their World of Hyatt loyalty program, enabling faithful customers to book a stay with collected points, on top of accumulating more for future trips.

Why Tulum Is Still Safe To Visit

When it comes to safety, it’s a well-known fact Tulum has seen a rise in crime in recent months.

While authorities have been quick to respond by introducing stricter patrolling in public beaches and tourist zones, and thus pushing criminals further out into suburban zones, resorts in Tulum are of course much safer, and in fact, crime-free.

Unless they are a guest or authorized staff, individuals are strictly forbidden from entering or circulating inside guest areas, and at the new resort, it will be no exception. Additionally, luxury hotels in Tulum have tight surveillance and are located in heavily policed districts.

This means tourists have nothing to worry about when checking into an all-inclusive property, especially if they don’t intend on venturing far from the resort.

This winter, Tulum will be even more popular once the international airport begins operating and the Maya Train launches, boosting connectivity across the Mexican Caribbean and making it easier for Cancun arrivals to reach the trendy beach town.
